The average number of driving lessons is currently 35 hours. As all learner drivers are different, some will pass more quickly than others. Once you have reached the standard to take your driving test your driving instructor will inform you. Your driving instructor in Edgware will carry out some mock driving tests with you, so you can become familiar with what is expected on the day of your test. Between yourself and your driving instructor you need to decide where you will be taking your driving test. |
Your driving test will start with an eyesight check and some vehicle safety questions. The driving part of your test will last about 40 minutes. Throughout the test your examiner will be looking for an overall safe standard of driving, including carrying out one of the manoeuvre excersises.
You will also be asked to do the independant part of the test for 5 to 10 minutes. You can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the test (16 or more results in failure). Your driving instructor will drive back regardless of whether you have passed or failed as you may not be fully concentrating on whats going on due to the stresses of the day.
